ST Martin Site Inspection

The Staff of St Martin Reservation Center visits the island for several weeks each year to inspect the properties we offer to our clients.  Our objective is to insure that these vacation rental properties and hotels meet our standards and to provide our staff with the inside information on property details that we can pass on to our guests.

One of the delightfull things about our job is that we get to stay in the St Martin vacation rental villas, condos and hotels that we offer our guests.  Over the last
20+ years we have had the pleasure of staying in all of the major hotels and 30% of the vacation villas and condos on the island of St Martin. This is a real advantage to our guests when doing research for St Martin accommodations.

We arrived on island Nov 1, 2012 and checked into villa Soleil Couchant, a 2 BR St Martin vacation rental villa, located on Plum Baie Beach in the French Lowlands. Entering the property was like folwing into a tropical paradise, with palm and coconut trees, bouganvilla, and all manner of tropical flowers.

The villa was compact with a large living room and dining room in the main part of the house, with huge veranda doors opening to the pool deck.  There were two equal bedrooms, each including ensuite bath and both indoor and outdoor showers...

Soleil Couchant has a private locked gate between the pool deck and the beach.
We spent our mornings walking Plum Baie Beach. The surf is filled with smooth boulders, but the beach is nearly private and perfect for walking. We only saw about a few other people on the beach each day.  Swimming on the beach is perfect just a bit further from the house where there is an area with a perfect sand entrance.

We spent our afternoons in a magnificaent free form pool with an island garden in the center.  Suculent flowering gardens surrounded the pool, which provided for blissfull afternoons.  The pool temperture was around 80 degrees.  The thing that struck us most was the uniqueness of this garden oasis.

The pool area of Soleil Couchant is surrounded by tropical gardens and includes a gazebo with a dining table and sea views.  We prepared a platter of fruit, cheese and a baggette of French bread with a bottle of wine for a pleasant sunset experience.

We enjoyed our exerience at this St Martin vacation rental house and would highy recommend Soleil Couchant as a perfect vacation rental villa for a honeymoon couple of two couples or even a small family.
