Changes at Flamboyant - Le Village

Flamboyant - Le Village was formerly known as Le Flamboyant Hotel in St Martin. This resort located beach front on Simpson Bay Lagoon in St Martin has been converted to a vacation condo rental complex which offers limited services.
Maid service is only included once every six days, but you can purchase additional days. Beakfast is no longer included, but can be purchased at Ti Case restaurant. There is no longer a 24 hr front desk and check in is in an office behind what used to be the front desk. I was told that under French law if you have a front desk, you a hotel and otherwise you can operate as a condo.
The conversion to condo status which reduced services and sharply reduced rates has been very popular with guests. In fact, this budget resort in St Martin has been sold out for many dates in Jan - Mar 2013.
Flamboyant - Le Village winter rates for a studio are just $144 per night per room until Apr 15, 2013 after which summer rates for this St Martin resort drop to $119 per room night.
There is a great beach and water sports shop for water activities on the lagoon. The location on the northwest side of St Martin island provides easy access to both the Dutch and French sides of the island. It only 15 minutes and a $15 cab ride to the airport and even closer to the Maho area where there is abundant night life, casino gambling, clubs, bars, restaurants and shopping.
Okay, you will either love or hate the Maho area, but you have to admit it is unique for a Caribbean island. Check out some reviews of Maho.
Yes, this is the place where you see the famous photos of the jumbo jets landing 100 feet over people standing on Maho beach or watching them land at Sunset Beach Bar.
A ten minute drive to the East, places you in Marigot the capital of the French since with more shopping and dining. One of my favorite areas for dining in Marigot is Marina Port Royale which offer several very good restaurants.
The new low rates at Flamboyant - Le Village, combined with the feature of allowing up to four persons in a studio or 1 BR at no extra charge, make this a popular choice for budget conscious couples or small families when compared to other St Martin hotels.
In my opinion if you are on a tight budget reserve a studio or suite at Flamboyant - Le Village and save the rest of your money for dining, shopping and island activities. Spend a little extra and rent a small car so that you can really see the whole island. There are many beautiful St Martin beaches and fun activities within easy reach of the resort.
