St Martin Site Inspection7/17/2013 - By Joanne - Reservations 
I just returned from a site inspection of St Martin/St Maarten where I saw 97 properties, hotels, condos & villas over three weeks. My friends all think I was on vacation but you try seeing 97 propeties...but I loved ever minute...we always say, "it's a great office"!
The island is in great shape, very green & lush. Lots of new development, including a new bridge in the Simpson Bay area that travereses the lagoon from airport road to just outside of Marigot. The will aleviate some of the traffic issues
We stayed at Beachside Villas, in three bedroom suite, right on Simpson Bay beach, with beautiful gardens.... great location
We visited several condos at Porto Cupecoy...tropical breezes fabulous views and beautifully decorated condos. We have more than 20 2- 4 BR vacation condos availabel for rent in the community. Porto Cupecoy features wonderful restaurants & shopping. Blooming Baskets is a fun shop with handmade purses with feathers & great clothes and accessories was one of my favorites. Villa Bahari at Shore Pointe, is a very contemporary 3 BR villa in a gated community on Cupecoy beach. Just across the street you can walk to Porto Cupecoy. This villa is a best buy for two or three couples or a small family. Directly on Cupecoy beach. Villa Beaulieu newly redecorated & remodeled, new kitchen, bedrooms beautiful, view one of the best in St Martin. Mille Fleurs, old world charm, every piece of art & furniture picked especially to give the old world charm, very comfortable, felt like home. This vacation rental villa is an excepional buy, offering the 5th 7th nights free in low season until Dec 14...
Orient Beach was very active. We had a wonderful meal at La Playa and the sword fish lunch at Kakao was incredible. We enjoyed a very scenic drive from Orient Bay to Dawn beach.
Coral Beach Club is a fabulous gated community of beachfront villas and beach view villas and town houses. The townhouses now share a pool and its just a short walk to the beach. Some of the trip highlights included shopping in Phillisburg especially at Ballerina Jewelers which offers a great selection. We had a great lunch at Firehouse Bar & Restaurant... "best jerk chicken ever".
Shopping in Grand Case, where lots of the shop would take US dollar or credit cards or par with Euros. We found some great bargins at Sexy Fruits. We lunched at the Lolos in Grand Case. Talk of The Town was my favorite with incredible dinners, with ribs etc
Marina Royale in Marigot has more than ten top restaurants. Enjoyed a superb dinner at Tropicana with superb, fresh salmon.... desserts awesome. Lots of , wonderful boutiques in the shopping area.
We shopped in the Maho area at Riviera Jewelers... great prices. Had a burger at Beatazu's new outdoor dining area. Bamboo Bernie’s and the rooftop Sky Beach Bar is a must.
