Esmeralda Resort Update April 2018Esmeralda Resort on Orient Beach was damaged during Hurricane Irma in Sept 2017. They have just now (April 2018) received $$ from insurance claim to repair damages. Many of our guests have asked when the resort will reopen and we have just received word from the GM that hope to begin accepting reservations in August 2018 for next winter 2019. This is of course subject to being able to secure the necessary materials and labor for the repairs. La Plantation Hotel has scheduled a soft reopening for April 16, 2018. The Bikini Beach and Kontiki Restaurants have received their permits to rebuild and hope to reopen sometime late summer 2018.
