St Martin Update - Apr 12, 20184/12/2018 - By St Martin Reservation Center
We have compiled some new information to share with you so you can know what you can expect to find on St-Martin when you visit. Grocery Stores Several grocery stores remain closed at this time. Below is the list of grocery stores recommended for guests to use during their stay.
Gourmet Marché, Porto Cupecoy: You’ll find everything you need from very good fruit and vegetables to meats & cheeses, breads, chips & cookies, alcohol, cigars, beauty and cleaning products and magazines. They have a good wine selection. Hours: Monday through Saturday 8am to 8pm, Sunday 8am to 6pm.
Maho Market, Maho Roundabout: This is a very convenient store for shopping when you don’t want to spend time in a bigger store. Hours: Open daily between 7am and 11pm.
Market Garden, Simpson Bay near Pelican Key: A very well stocked and super clean store. Very good fruit and vegetables as well as charcuterie and wine. For a real local experience, they have a terrific “food buffet” that is a favorite among the locals. Hot and cold and “to go”. Hours: Open daily between 6 AM to 9 PM.
Monoprix, Marigot in Bellevue: You’ll find everything you need. Most of the products are from France: charcuterie, breads, fruit and vegetables, meats and fish, French canned goods and a very nice wine selection. (Not recommended for big family shopping).Hours: Monday - Saturday 8am to 7pm, Sunday 9am-1pm.
Super U, Marigot in the Howell Center: Price and quality are the hallmark of Super U. Excellent cosmetic and toiletries section with French and American products. Very good wine, cheese and meats selection along with fresh fruits and vegetables. Good place to pick up French and Caribbean spices. Hours: Monday - Saturday 8:00am to 7:30pm Sunday 9am-1pm.
ShopNDrop delivery service right to the villa. Shop online at www.shopndropgrocerysxm.com/?AffId=2. There is a fee for the delivery.
Casinos The most popular Casinos closest to our villas, in the Terres Basses, are closed (Starz & Casino Royale). Below is the list of Casinos we would recommend as alternatives to the ones we normally suggest.
Dunes located in Maho behind The Refuge & Sunset Beach Bar Princess located in the Port de Plaisance community Tropicana located in Cole Bay near the roundabout for Phillipsburg Nightlife It is a little quieter on St-Martin these days. Maho is extremely quiet with only a few restaurants open and there are no bars or entertainment restaurants open at this time. Unfortunately the same can be said for the nightlife normally found in Orient Baie or Grand Case.
We would encourage guests to visit Simpson Bay where there are more restaurants open and there is a small nightlife with the opening of Little Bamboo & Lotus nightclub. Red Piano & Karakter Beach Bar are also great spots to enjoy live music.
